The collected edition of Faraday's 29 ground-breaking papers on electricity and magnetic forces.
This important collected edition includes Faraday's papers published in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society and other journals between 1832 and 1852, describing experiments that led to his development of the first dynamo, the precursor of modern power generators and the electric motor.
After bookseller Bernard Quaritch bought the copyright of mrs Faraday in circa 1878, he reprinted the first two volumes and had them uniformly bound with the original edition of the third volume. After Quaritch ran out of the original sheets of the third volume, he had it reprinted as well. In the present set volumes one and two are the Quaritch reprints (with "facsimile reprint" added to the title-page), with the third volume in the original edition.
