A proclamation issued by the Amsterdam municipality restricting the transport and storage of black powder. It was undoubtedly prompted by the infamous Leiden gunpowder disaster that occurred on  12 January 1807. This tragic event resulted in the explosion of hundreds of barrels of black powder, claiming 151 lives and demolishing over 200 structures in the heart of Leiden.
