A folder with eight photo postcards of Sachsenhausen concentration camp

Price

€ 250,00

A folder with eight photo postcards of Sachsenhausen concentration camp.

The folder features a brief description of the many atrocities committed by the Nazis in Sachsenhausen. It specifically mentions several murdered antifascists, among them Mathias Thesen.

Established in 1936 north of Berlin, Sachsenhausen initially detained political prisoners before expanding to include Jews, homosexuals, Roma, Sinti, and Soviet civilians. Indeed, the number of Jewish prisoners rose from 21 in early 1937 to 11,000 in early 1945.

The camp was repurposed by Soviet forces after the war and later transformed into the Gedenkstätte und Museum Sachsenhausen in 1961. This folder was published to fund the memorial.
