Second copy located (the other is held at the National Library of Israel) of the memoirs of Simcha van Frank, featuring stories and poems evoking his experiences in hiding during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands.

The Ghetto Fighters’ House Archive holds a testimony by Van Frank. From this, it is evident that Simcha (Simon) van Frank was born in Haarlem in 1920 and survived the Second World War through resilience and resourcefulness. After joining Zionist training programmes, he escaped deportation in 1942 and hid with Dutch families. From 1944, he joined the underground aiding Jews but avoided capture when his group was executed in 1945.

Following liberation, he worked with Holocaust survivors in France before returning to the Netherlands in 1946 due to health issues. In 1947, he emigrated to Eretz Israel, settling in Hadera, where he worked with juvenile delinquents.
