An extremely rare and detailed manual for textile crafts and needlework, including tapestry weaving, knitting, tatting, embroidery, and crochet.
Intended for women, it is divided into eight parts and covers a wide variety of stitches and techniques, as well as instructions for making handkerchiefs, gowns, hats, shirts, children's clothing, and more.
It was translated from English. In the preface, the author refers to "drie Handleidingen" (three manuals) that she wrote earlier. Quite possibly, the English original was The Ladies' Hand-Book of Fancy Needle Work and Embroidery (1842), variously attributed to Lucy Hooper or Baroness Calabrella.
WorldCat lists only one copy of this Dutch edition, held in the University Library of Amsterdam.
